My name is Stephanie Gilhooly, and I am proud to be putting my name forward as a nominee for Union Area A Director. I have been an education assistant for 17 years, currently working in an at-risk classroom where I advocate daily for the needs of vulnerable students. For the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of serving on the union, and serving all of my peeps.

In addition to my work in education, I have served on the parent board for the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre and work as a family support worker, bringing a strong foundation in advocacy, compassion, and community leadership. As a mother of five, I understand firsthand the importance of stability, fair compensation, and access to benefits that allow workers and their families to thrive.

I work hard, and I care deeply about making sure our voices are not just heard—but truly represented. If elected, I will continue to fight for what we all deserve: a livable wage, better benefits, and dignity in the workplace. Your concerns are my concerns, and I will stand beside you every step of the way.
